April, YOU have arrived! Although Spring starts in late March in Britain, let’s admit it, the weather hasn’t been giving much other than rain and moodiness, especially in the East of England where I’m based. I’m always excited about seasonal change, mainly in the winter. I’ve written enough times on here about my dislike for the cold, which is why I go ape once April arrives. The scenery changes, and I wish I could say the smell too, but I’d be referring to the sweet, exquisite jacaranda scent of my youth spent in South Africa- a memory I hold so dearly and long to experience again. Still, we celebrate the arrival of sunnier days, cherry blossoms, blue skies and happier faces of strangers in our neighborhoods.
Towards the end of January, I started working on a few pieces intended for Valentine’s day, but in evidence of procrastination, they somehow became a Mother’s day venture; those are selling occasions after all! Running a small business (independent) is challenging, but we learn as we go, so whoever is reading this who’s an arts and crafts creator, artist or seller, let’s keep it moving and think creatively!

As a creator of mixed art, pottery has become a form of creating meaningful work; I express myself through a complicated yet fascinating method I only wish to be admired picked up and enjoyed by others (I also hope it draws keen learners).
